CFS Regina – Newcomer Family Support and Newcomer Employment & Settlement Services are organizing traffic safety sessions in partnership with SGI (Saskatchewan Government Insurance) for the newcomers.
Series 1: Introduction
Date: Oct 5 (Tuesday)
Time: 11 am – 12 pm
Location: 160 McIntosh Street
Topics Include:
- Driving in Saskatchewan with a license from another country
- Driving restrictions
- Information on taking Driver Education
- Registering a vehicle in Saskatchewan
- Collision
- How to interact with police and emergency vehicles
Series 2: Winter Driving
Date: October 12 (Tuesday)
Time: 1 pm – 2 pm
Location: On Zoom
Topics Include:
- Getting your car ready for winter
- The need to clean your windows and turn on headlights
- How to handle slippery surfaces and curves in the road
- ABS and what to do if you slide
- Survival tips
Series 3: Seatbelts and Car Seats
Date: October 26 (Tuesday)
Time: 11 am – 12 pm
Location: 160 McIntosh Street
Topics Include:
- Use of seatbelt while riding in a vehicle
- Right type of seat for children
- How to install and properly buckle the child seat
