Can I receive services if I’m not Catholic?
We offer our services to anyone and everyone that needs our help, living by our motto; Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors.
Do your services cost anything?
Our only service that has a cost is our Counselling Services. However, we use a sliding scale to assess the cost, taking your family size and income into account. We guarantee no one will be refused services due to an inability to pay. Visit our Counselling Services page for more information.
Are you a part of the Ministry of Social Services?
CFS Regina is its own independent organization and not a government agency. However, we are partnered with the MSS meaning we receive funding and referrals from them.
Do donations made to CFS Regina qualify for a Saskatchewan Charitable Donations tax credit?
Donations get a tax deductible receipt but if you use our services like counselling for example this is not tax deductible.
Why choose CFS Regina?
At CFS Regina, we are truly open to all and we recognize that every family and individual is unique which is why we promise to meet each family/person where they are at and provide support specific to their needs. Ultimately our goal is to promote happy, healthy families.
How do you get your funding?
We are an independent non-profit organization, so although we receive some funding through government, we rely heavily on the generosity of public donations. Each and every contribution ensures we can provide the best services to as many of our community members as possible.
How do I get a Youth Mentor for my son or daughter?
The Youth Mentor program is intended for youth who are wards of the province. Youth can be referred to the program through their Ministry of Social Services social worker.
For more information, visit the Youth Mentor Program Page.
How can I become a Youth Mentor?
Youth Mentor is a paid position that commits to work a certain number of hours each week, providing learning opportunities and entertainment to children that are wards of the province.
If you would like to learn more about how to become a Youth Mentor visit our Youth Mentor Program page.
What if the Ministry of Social Services or another agency is saying we have to work with you? Is it mandatory?
Both Families First and Family Support are voluntary programs and no one is forced to work with us if they don’t want to.
What is the cost of counselling services?
Our counseling fee is $110/hour long session.
However, if this amount is unaffordable we use a sliding scale which takes your income and family size into account to decide on a fee. We guarantee no one will ever be turned away due to an inability to pay.
